Sangpo Buddhist Centre Welfare Activities

"There are four truths about our existence that will never change. Firstly, life is suffering. Suffering happens alongside with life. Secondly, suffering is caused by attachment. Thirdly, suffering can be ceased. And the last truth is path to cease suffering is known as the noble-eight fold path", said Buddha.

Despite the Four Noble Truths expounded by Buddha are the fundamental of Buddhism, frequently we found ourselves neglecting them, as we aspire for higher and more complicated forms of practice. Therefore at Sangpo Buddhist Centre, we actively engage in welfare activities to constantly remind ourselves of Buddha's teaching, which can be summarized as the teaching of suffering, its origin, cessation and the path leading to cessation. At the same time we also bring the practice of Buddhism into actions to benefit the needy in the society.

7th November 2011 : Tea Break Sponsorship to Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah

While most people were enjoying the long weekend break, Sangpo Buddhist Centre's members had swung into action to bring joy to a group of under privileged children and elders. We visited Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, which is an established charity home. At the same time, we were humbled to be given an opportunity to serve these wonderful children tea break.
